November 6, 2018 Election

BCPUD Board of Directors Candidacy

The terms of three (3) BCPUD Directors expire this year.  If you would like to run for one of these seats in the November 6, 2018 election, you must declare your candidacy during the filing period, which opens July 16, 2018 and closes August 10, 2018.  The appropriate forms are available from the Registrar of Voters office at the Civic Center (Room 121) and must be filed there.  You can download a copy of the Candidate Guide for The Statewide General Election, November 6, 2018 here.  If any of the three BCPUD Directors whose terms are expiring at the end of November decide that they do not want to run for another 4-year term, the filing period for non-incumbents only will be extended until August 15, 2018.

Proposed advisory Measure Prohibiting Overnight Parking on Brighton and Park Avenues

At the BCPUD Board of Directors’ regular monthly meeting on June 20, 2018, the Board agreed to place an advisory measure on the ballot for the November 2018 election concerning a County of Marin proposal to regulate overnight parking on Brighton and Park Avenues.  In response to requests from downtown homeowners and others in the community, Supervisor Rodoni has formulated a proposal to prohibit overnight parking on Brighton and Park Avenues between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on one side of the streets and to implement a resident only parking permit zone on the other side of the streets during the same hours.  The BCPUD Board will consider the proposed text of such a ballot measure beginning with a special meeting this Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. and again at its regular monthly meeting on July 18, 2018.  Public input on this topic is welcome and may be provided verbally at the meetings or in writing via email to bcpud@bcpud.org.  In addition, you may send your input directly to Supervisor Rodoni at drodoni@marincounty.org.  A guide for local jurisdictions on how to submit a ballot measure can be found here.
